For people flying into Denpasar from Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, or Adelaide, then staying in Ubud. Same Petulu kitchen as the rest of the site.

From Australia

The class is in English, at most eight guests. Free pickup from a hotel or villa in the main Ubud area. About 10 minutes from central Ubud, depending on traffic.

Flights and the first day

Perth to Denpasar (DPS) is about three and a half hours. Melbourne and Sydney are about five and a half to six and a half. Bali is two hours behind AEDT in the Australian summer, three hours behind AEST in winter. A morning class at 8:30am is an early start if you landed late the night before; many Australians take the afternoon session that first full day.

School holidays in Australia fill Ubud. Put the hotel gate clearly on the WhatsApp note.

The class

Teaching is in English. Morning: market, rice fields, cooking, lunch. Afternoon: rice fields, cooking, dinner. December to February is the wet season here — the opposite of a dry Australian summer — so closed shoes help on the bunds.
